How To Prepare For The

Upcoming Hurricane Season

The HHCA June guest speaker will be Jaime Hernandez, Director of Emergency Management for The City of Hollywood, will provide tips and information on how to prepare for the upcoming hurricane season.

Emergency management is the discipline of preparing for and responding to crisis situations or disasters, both man-made and natural. An effective emergency management agency works closely with internal and external stakeholders such as staff, residents, government agencies, community-based organizations, and others to ensure the community is ready to deal with any emergency situation it is faced with. It performs an important support role for City departments such as coordinating disaster training, managing volunteer and community outreach/preparedness initiatives, disseminating critical emergency information.
